PINPOINT TEST M : The Heated Seat is Inoperative or Does Not Operate Correctly - Passenger: Notes

Refer to Climate Controlled Seats for schematic and connector information.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

The engine must be running for the heated seat system to operate. The driver and passenger heated seat buttons are selected from the touchscreen interface, which initiates the CAN communication to request heated seat operation. Refer to Seating - Heated , Network Message Chart. Upon receiving the request, the HVAC module supplies voltage to the appropriate driver and/or passenger seat cushion and backrest heater mats, which are connected in series. Temperature is maintained by the HVAC module using a sensor contained within the cushion heater mat. The HVAC module supplies a reference voltage to the temperature sensor and monitors the return signal from the temperature sensor for controlling current flow to the heater mats. The HVAC module remains on, heating the seat and maintaining temperature until commanded off from the FCIM or touchscreen interface (or until the ignition is turned OFF).

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

DTC Description Fault Trigger Conditions
B1036:11 Right Front Seat Heater Element: Circuit Short To Ground Sets when the HVAC module senses the right front heater element current draw has exceeded a specified threshold. When this DTC sets, the HVAC module disables the circuit until the ignition is cycled.
B1036:13 Right Front Seat Heater Element: Circuit Open Sets when the HVAC module senses the right front heater element current draw is less than a specified threshold. When this DTC sets, the HVAC module disables the circuit until the ignition is cycled.
B103A:11 Right Front Seat Heater Sensor: Circuit Short To Ground Sets when the HVAC module senses the right front heater sensor voltage is out-of-range low. When this DTC sets, the HVAC module disables the circuit until the ignition is cycled.
B103A:12 Right Front Seat Heater Sensor: Circuit Short To Battery Sets when the HVAC module senses the right front heater sensor voltage is out-of-range high. When this DTC sets, the HVAC module disables the circuit until the ignition is cycled.
B103A:13 Right Front Seat Heater Sensor: Circuit Open Sets when the HVAC module senses the right front heater sensor voltage is out-of-range high. When this DTC sets, the HVAC module disables the circuit until the ignition is cycled.

Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-checks

Make sure BJB fuse 28 (30A) is OK.
