Parking Brake Control: Removal

1.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. REFER to Jacking and Lifting

2.

Release the tension on the parking brake cable. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Tension Release .

3.

Press inward on the tabs and detach the front parking brake cable from the frame bracket.

4.

Remove the 2 screws and the lower steering column trim panel.

5.

Remove the 4 screws and lower steering column trim panel reinforcement.
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).

6.

Remove the BCM. REFER to Multifunction Electronic Modules (With Intelligent Access (IA)), REFER to Multifunction Electronic Modules (Without Intelligent Access (IA))

7.

Remove the 3 nuts and the BCM bracket.
- To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).

8.

Remove the scuff plate trim panel and the lower cowl side trim panel. REFER to Interior Trim and Ornamentation

9.

Position the carpet aside and disconnect the parking brake switch electrical connector.

10.

Remove the parking brake control nut.

11.

Remove the 2 parking brake control bolts.

12.

Position the cable conduit grommet through the floor.

13.

Remove the parking brake control and front cable assembly.
