PINPOINT TEST C : The Temperature Gauge Is Inoperative
- C1 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE PCM KOEO SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the PCM KOEO self-test.
Are any DTCs recorded?
Yes REFER to ENGINE CONTROLS - SYMPTOM CHARTS (EXCEPT DIESEL & HYBRID) . No GO to C2. - C2 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any DTCs recorded?
Yes For DTC U0100:00, GO to Pinpoint Test AR . For all other DTCs, REFER to DTC Chart: IPC . No GO to C3. - C3 CARRY OUT THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE ACTIVE COMMAND USING THE SCAN TOOL
- Ignition ON.
- Make sure to set the scan tool to 0 or full cold before beginning this step.
- Using a scan tool, view the IPC PIDs.
- Select the IPC temperature gauge (ENGCOOLNT) PID. Command the temperature gauge on and off while monitoring the gauge.
Does the temperature gauge start at cold (C), move to full hot (H) and return to cold (C)?
Yes INSTALL a new PCM. REFER to Electronic Engine Controls . No Refer to IPC Hardware Testing .
