PINPOINT TEST N : The Stability-Traction Control Indicator (Sliding Car Icon) Is Never or Always On
- N1 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any DTCs recorded?
Yes For DTC U0121:00, GO to Pinpoint Test AU . For all other DTCs, REFER to DTC Chart: IPC . No GO to N2. - N2 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE ABS MODULE SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the ABS module self-test.
Are any DTCs recorded?
Yes REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control . No GO to N3. - N3 CARRY OUT THE IPC INDICATOR LAMP CONTROL ACTIVE COMMAND USING THE SCAN TOOL
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, view the IPC PIDs.
- Select the IPC stability-traction control indicator (sliding car icon) PID (TC/IVD/RSCLMP). Command the stability-traction control indicator (sliding car icon) on and off while observing the stability-traction control indicator (sliding car icon).
Does the stability-traction control indicator (sliding car icon) illuminate when commanded on and turn off when commanded off?
Yes If the stability-traction control indicator (sliding car icon) is never on, the system is operating correctly at this time. If the stability-traction control indicator (sliding car icon) is always on, INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control . No Refer to IPC Hardware Testing .
