PINPOINT TEST AI : The SHIFT TO PARK Message Is Inoperative or Always On
- AI1 CHECK THE MESSAGE CENTER OPERATION
- Close all doors, hood and liftgate.
- Ignition ON.
- Open the driver door while monitoring the message center displays.
NOTE: If multiple warnings are present, the message center cycles through each of the warning indicators. Allow the message center to cycle through each display while determining whether the driver door ajar message is active.Does the message center display DRIVER DOOR AJAR?
Yes GO to AI2. No Refer to IPC Hardware Testing . - AI2 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Is DTC U0140:00 recorded?
Yes GO to Pinpoint Test AV . No GO to AI3. - AI3 CHECK THE PRNDL PARK (P) OPERATION
- Apply the parking brake.
- Ignition ON.
- Shift the vehicle in and out of PARK (P) while monitoring the PRNDL P indication.
Does the PRNDL display P with the shifter in PARK (P) and turn off when the shifter is out of PARK (P)?
Yes INSTALL a new BCM. REFER to Multifunction Electronic Modules . No GO to Pinpoint Test CK .
