PINPOINT TEST AJ : A Hill Descent Control Message Is Never or Always On

  1. AJ1 CHECK THE MESSAGE CENTER OPERATION

    • Close all doors, hood and liftgate.
    • Ignition ON.
      NOTE: If multiple warnings are present, the message center cycles through each of the warning indicators. Allow the message center to cycle through each display while determining whether the driver door ajar message is active.
    • Open the driver door while monitoring the message center displays.

    Does the message center display DRIVER DOOR AJAR? 

    Yes  GO to  AJ2.
    No  Refer to IPC Hardware Testing .
  2. AJ2 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST

    • Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Is DTC U0121:00 recorded? 

    Yes  GO to Pinpoint Test AU .
    No  GO to  AJ3.
  3. AJ3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE ABS MODULE SELF-TEST

    • Using a scan tool, perform the ABS module self-test.

    Are any DTCs recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control .
    No  INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control .
