PINPOINT TEST AC : An Individual Reversing Lamp Is Inoperative

  1. AC1 CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE STOPLAMPS

    • Ignition OFF.
    • Apply and release the brake pedal while observing the stoplamps.

    Do the stoplamps illuminate with the brake pedal applied? 

    Yes  GO to  AC2.
    No  GO to Pinpoint Test N .

  2. AC2 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE REVERSING LAMP

    • Apply the parking brake.
    • Disconnect: Inoperative Reversing Lamp.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Select REVERSE.
    • Measure:
      Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead
      Rear Lamp-Left C414-4

      		 Ground
      Rear Lamp-Right C417-4

      		 Ground

    Is the voltage greater than 11 volts? 

    Yes  REPAIR or INSTALL a new rear lamp jumper harness.
    No  REPAIR the reversing lamp voltage supply circuit for an open.
