Pinpoint Test Ag : DTC U0140:87
- AG1 VERIFY CUSTOMER CONCERN
- Ignition ON.
- Verify that there is an observable symptom present.
Is an observable symptom present?
Yes GO to AG2. No The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - AG2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, perform the network test.
Does the BCM pass the network test?
Yes GO to AG3. No Refer to article 'Module Communications Network', Go to Pinpoint Test I . - AG3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE SELF-TEST
- Check for recorded FLM DTCs from the self-test.
Is DTC B11D9:16 or DTC B11D9:17 recorded?
Yes For DTC B11D9:16, GO to Pinpoint Test AE . For DTC B11D9:17, GO to Pinpoint Test AF . No GO to AG4. - AG4 CHECK FOR DTCs U3003:16 AND U3003:17 FROM THE BCM SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, retrieve the continuous memory DTCs from the BCM.
Is DTC U3003:16 or DTC U3003:17 recorded?
Yes For DTC U3003:16, Refer to article 'Multifunction Electronic Modules', Go to Pinpoint Test H . For DTC U3003:17, Refer to article 'Multifunction Electronic Modules', Go to Pinpoint Test I . No GO to AG5. - AG5 RECHECK THE FLM DTCs
- Using a scan tool, clear the DTCs. Repeat the FLM self-test.
Is DTC U0140:87 still present?
Yes GO to AG6. No The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - AG6 CHECK FOR DTC U0140:87 OR DTC U0140 OTHER MODULES
- Using a scan tool, clear all DTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Using a scan tool, retrieve the continuous memory DTCs from all modules.
Is DTC U0140:87 or DTC U0140 set in any other module?
Yes INSTALL a new BCM. REFER to Multifunction Electronic Modules - Without Intelligent Access or REFER to Multifunction Electronic Modules - With Intelligent Access . No INSTALL a new FLM. Refer to Front Lighting Control Module (FLM) .
