PINPOINT TEST F : The Power Liftgate Does Not Power Close (Power Open Ok): Notes

Refer to Power Liftgate for schematic and connector information.

Normal Operations and Fault Conditions

When the power liftgate moves in the close direction, the LTM monitors the pinch strip switches and position sensor for obstacle detection. If the LTM detects an obstacle or a concern with a pinch strip, it either reverses the liftgate or does not allow power close. The LTM sends a voltage reference signal to both pinch strips. When a pinch strip is activated, it switches the voltage reference signal to ground. The right and left pinch strip return signal circuits are spliced together.

The LTM also monitors the power liftgate latch status once the liftgate closes to a secondary latch position. If the liftgate is unable to obtain a primary latch position, the LTM aborts the power close.

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

DTC Description Fault Trigger Conditions
B2699 Left Pinch Strip Open or Short to Battery A continuous memory and on-demand DTC that sets when the LTM detects more than 3.7 volts on the left pinch strip input circuit for more than 3 seconds.
B2700 Right Pinch Strip Open or Short to Battery A continuous memory and on-demand DTC that sets when the LTM detects more than 3.7 volts on the right pinch strip input circuit for more than 3 seconds.
B2701 Left Pinch Strip Stuck Active A continuous memory and on-demand DTC that sets when the LTM detects less than.5 volts on the left pinch strip input circuit for more than 30 seconds.
B2702 Right Pinch Strip Stuck Active A continuous memory and on-demand DTC that sets when the LTM detects less than 0.5 volt on the right pinch strip input circuit for more than 30 seconds.
