Pinpoint Test Q : U0155

  1. Q1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN

    • Ignition ON.
    • Verify there is an observable symptom present.

    Is an observable symptom present? 

    Yes  GO to  Q2.
    No  The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
  2. Q2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK

    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a scan tool, perform the network test.

    Does the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) pass the network test? 

    Yes  GO to  Q3.
    No  REFER to Module Communications Network .
  3. Q3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST

    • Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Is DTC U3003:16 or DTC U3003:17 recorded? 

    Yes  REFER to Instrumentation, Message Center, and Warning Chimes .
    No  GO to  Q4.
  4. Q4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE LTM SELF-TEST

    • Using a scan tool, perform the LTM self-test.

    Is DTC B1317 or DTC B1318 recorded? 

    Yes  For DTC B1317, GO to Pinpoint Test N . For DTC B1318, GO to Pinpoint Test O .
    No  GO to  Q5.
  5. Q5 RECHECK THE LTM DTCs

    • Using a scan tool, clear the DTCs.
    • Wait 10 seconds.
    • Using a scan tool, perform the LTM self-test.

    Is DTC U0155 still present? 

    Yes  GO to  Q6.
    No  The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
  6. Q6 CHECK FOR DTC U0155 SET IN OTHER MODULES

    • Using a scan tool, clear all DTCs.
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Wait 10 seconds.
    • Using a scan tool, retrieve the continuous memory DTCs from all modules.

    Is DTC U0155 set in the DSM or the BCM ? 

    Yes  Refer to IPC Hardware Testing .
    No  INSTALL a new LTM. Refer to Liftgate/Trunk Module (LTM) .
