Generator - 2.0L GTDI: Installation

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

Install the generator.
1. 1.
  
  Install the generator upper bolt.
  Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

  Install the generator bracket stud.
  Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

Install the generator bracket upper bolt and bracket nut.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

  Tighten the generator upper bolt.
  Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

  If removed, tighten the generator bracket bolt.
  Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

  If removed, tighten the generator bracket bolt.
  Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

5.

Install the wire terminal and nut on the generator.
- Tighten to 17 Nm (150 lb-in) and install the cap.
- Connect the wire harness electrical connector.
- Attach the 4 wiring harness retainers to the engine.

6.

Install the A/C compressor, the 2 bolts and the stud.
- Tighten the bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) and the stud to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
- Install the nut and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

7.

Install the A/C tube bracket bolt.
- Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

8.

Connect the 2 A/C compressor electrical connectors.
- Attach the wiring harness retainer to the A/C tube stud bolt.

9.

Install the Accessory drive belt. REFER to Accessory Drive .

10.

Install the A/C drive belt. REFER to Accessory Drive .
