PINPOINT TEST A : All Door Locks Are Inoperative
- A1 CHECK THE DTCs FROM THE BCM SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the BCM self-test.
Is DTC B126A:01 present?
Yes GO to Pinpoint Test E . No GO to A2. - A2 VERIFY THE OPERATION OF BOTH DOOR LOCK CONTROL SWITCHES
- Press the lock and unlock buttons on both door lock control switches while observing the door lock operation.
Are the door locks inoperative from both switches?
Yes GO to A3. No GO to Pinpoint Test D . - A3 VERIFY ALL DOOR LOCKS ARE INOPERATIVE
- Press the lock and unlock buttons from a door lock control switch while observing the door locks.
Are all the door locks inoperative from both switch positions (lock and unlock)?
Yes VERIFY the BCM fuse 20 (20A) is OK. If OK, GO to A4. If not OK, GO to A6. No CHECK the symptom(s) and REFER to the Symptom Chart: Handles, Locks, Latches and Entry Systems - Electrical . - A4 CHECK THE POWER DOOR LOCK RELAY GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect BCM C2280D.
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C2280D-16 Ground
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes GO to A5. No REPAIR the circuit. - A5 CHECK THE ALL DOOR LOCK CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Disconnect Left Front Door Lock Actuator.
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes GO to A7. No REPAIR the circuit. - A6 CHECK THE ALL LOCK CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Install a new BCM fuse 20 (20A).
- Operate the door lock actuators by pressing LOCK on the door lock control switch.
Is the BCM fuse 20 (20A) OK?
Yes REPAIR the driver door or passenger door unlock circuit for a short to ground. No REPAIR the all lock circuit for a short to ground. - A7 CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect all the BCM connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion, (install new connectors or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Connect all the BCM connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and follow TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern, INSTALL a new BCM. REFER to REFER to Multifunction Electronic Modules . No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
