PINPOINT TEST F : The Liftgate Latch Release Is Inoperative: Notes
Refer to Power Liftgate for schematic and connector information.
Refer to Remote Keyless Entry and Alarm for schematic and connector information.
Normal Operations and Fault Conditions
When the BCM receives an open request from the exterior liftgate release switch or RKE transmitter, the BCM supplies voltage to the liftgate latch (manual liftgate) or the LTM (power liftgate). The manual liftgate latch has a dedicated ground circuit.
The BCM sends a voltage signal to the liftgate release switch. When the liftgate release switch is pressed, the voltage signal is routed to ground, signaling the BCM a request to release the liftgate.
For information on the power liftgate operation, REFER to Body Closures .
BCM DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
| DTC | Description | Fault Trigger Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| B12E8:11 | Liftgate/Tailgate Control/Release Switch: Circuit Short to Ground | Sets when the BCM detects a short to ground from the liftgate release switch input circuit. |
