Pinpoint Test B : B1305:01: Notes
Diagnostic Overview
B1305:01
Normal Operations and Fault Conditions
When the alarm system is armed, the BCM monitors the hood switch. If the hood is opened while the alarm is armed, the hood switch removes ground from the signal circuit. This signals the BCM that an unauthorized intrusion to the engine compartment has occurred and the BCM activates the alarm.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
| DTC | Description | Fault Trigger Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| B1305:01 | Hood Switch: General Electrical Failure | Set by the BCM if it detects an open on the hood switch sense circuit. The open could be in the sense circuit, hood switch, or the hood switch ground circuit. This DTC also sets if the hood is open during a BCM self-test. |
Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-checks
Inspect the hood switch.
