Transmission Case Bushing: Installation

  1. 1.

    Clean the halfshaft bushing area of the transmission case.

  1. 2.

    Assemble 307-664 and 205-153 T80T-4000-W and install a new bushing on 307-664.

  1. 3.

    Place a small amount of Retaining Compound on only the outside of the entire outer circumference of the new red Teflon ® coated bushing before installation.

  1. 4.

    Using 307-664 and 205-153 T80T-4000-W, install the new bushing in the transmission case.

  1. 5.

    Install the new front LH halfshaft seal. Refer to Halfshaft Seal - LH .

  1. 6.

    Install the drain plug.
    • 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

    NOTE: Do not install the underbody shield at this time.

  1. 7.
    Fill the transmission with transmission fluid. Start the engine and let it run for 5 minutes. Refer to Transmission Fluid Drain and Refill .

  1. 8.

    Remove the drain plug and drain the transmission fluid a second time.
    • 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

  1. 9.

    Fill the transmission with transmission fluid. Refer to Transmission Fluid Drain and Refill .
