Transmission Support Insulator: Installation

  1. 1.

    Clean the transmission support insulator bolt using a wire brush and apply Motorcraft ® Threadlock and Sealer to the threads.

  1. 2.

    Install the transmission support insulator and install the transmission support insulator bolt and the transmission support insulator nuts.
    • Torque: 150 Nm (111 lb-ft).
    • Torque: 63 Nm (46 lb-ft).

  1. 3.

    Remove 303-F072.

  1. 4.

    Install the cowl panel. REFER to Front End Body Panels .

  1. 5.

    Install the TCM bracket, install the transmission support insulator nuts and install the TCM bracket bolt.
    • Torque: 11 Nm (97 lb-in).
    • Torque: 63 Nm (46 lb-ft).

  1. 6.

    Install the vacuum tube retainer and the wiring retainers on the TCM bracket.

    NOTE: Keep the TCM electrical connector straight when connecting it or damage to the connector terminals can occur.

  1. 7.
    Connect the TCM electrical connector and slide the lock tab down to lock the connector.

  1. 8.

    Install the battery tray. REFER to Battery, Mounting and Cables .
