Door Handle Reinforcement - Exterior, Rear: Removal

1. 1.
   
   Remove the rear door trim panel. REFER to Interior Trim and Ornamentation .

   Remove the exterior door handle. Refer to Exterior Door Handle .

1. 3.
   
   Position the weather shield aside.

1. 4.
   
   Disconnect the rear door latch actuator electrical connector.

1. 5.
   
   Remove the rear door lock push rod from the door lock rod.

1. 6.
   
   Push the door lock rod and grommet through the door panel.

1. 7.
   
   Push the interior door handle cable and grommet through the door panel, and pull them back out through the door panel access hole.

1. 8.
   
   Loosen the exterior rear door handle reinforcement carrier screw.
   • To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).

1. 9.
   
   Slide the exterior rear door handle reinforcement to the front of the vehicle and push it inside the door.

1. 10.
   
   Remove the 3 rear door latch bolts.
   • To install, tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

1. 11.
   
   Remove the complete latch, carrier, and handle reinforcement assembly from the door.

1. 12.
   
   Open the clip and disconnect the exterior rear door handle actuating rod.

1. 13.
   
   Remove the exterior rear door handle reinforcement from the carrier.
