Pinpoint Test D : U0129
- D1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
- Ignition ON.
- Verify there is an observable symptom present.
Is an observable symptom present?
Yes GO to D2. No The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - D2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, perform a network test.
Does the ABS module pass the network test?
Yes GO to D3. No Go to Pinpoint Test B . - D3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE ABS AND PCM SELF-TESTS
- Check for recorded DTCs from the following modules.
- ABS module
- PCM
Are any low or high voltage DTCs recorded?
Yes For ABS module DTC U3003:16, Go to Pinpoint Test A or DTC U3003:17, Go to Pinpoint Test P . For PCM DTC P0562, Go to Pinpoint Test B or DTC P0563, Go to Pinpoint Test A . No GO to D4. - Check for recorded DTCs from the following modules.
- D4 CHECK FOR DTC U0129 SET IN OTHER MODULES
- Using a scan tool, clear all DTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Using a scan tool, perform the PCM KOEO self-test.
Does the PCM set DTC U0129?
Yes INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control . No INSTALL a new PCM. REFER to Electronic Engine Controls - 2.0L GTDI, REFER to Electronic Engine Controls - 3.5L Ti-VCT or REFER to Electronic Engine Controls - 3.5L GTDI.
