PINPOINT TEST F : One Or More Switch Or Component Illumination Is Inoperative
- F1 CHECK THE BACKLIGHTING VOLTAGE SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: Inoperative Illumination Source.
- Ignition ON.
- Place the headlamp switch in the parking lamps on position.
- Using the instrument panel dimmer switch, change the dimmable backlighting to its brightest setting.
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead Start-Stop Switch C2195-5 Ground Active Park Assist Switch (Center Stack Switch Assembly) C2114-6 Ground Auxiliary Climate Control Assembly C3198B-19 Ground Center Console Finish Panel Lamp C3398-6 Ground Left Door Lock Switch (without memory) C505-4 Ground Left Door Lock Switch (with memory) C541-2 Ground Right Door Lock Switch C605-1 Ground
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
Yes For a door lock control switch, INSTALL a new door lock control switch. REFER to Handles, Locks, Latches and Entry Systems With Intelligent Access (IA) . For all other components, GO to F2. No REPAIR the circuit. - F2 CHECK THE BACKLIGHTING GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead Start-Stop Switch C2195-5 C2195-3 Active Park Assist Switch (Center Stack Switch Assembly) C2114-6 C2114-1 Auxiliary Climate Control Assembly C3198B-19 C3198B-11 Center Console Finish Panel C3398-6 C3398-4
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
Yes INSTALL a new component in question. No REPAIR the circuit. - Measure:
