Condition  Possible Sources  Actions 
The engine only starts with the key in the backup slot and no DTCs present Intelligent Access (IA) key battery
Intelligent Access (IA) programmable parameter
ATTEMPT to start the engine using 2 different Intelligent Access (IA) keys, one at a time. Place an Intelligent Access (IA) key on top of the center console and push the start/stop switch and brake.
The vehicle does not start with the Intelligent Access (IA) key in certain areas within the vehicle Wiring, terminals or connectors
Front passive start antenna
Center passive start antenna
Rear passive start antenna
RFA module
GO to Pinpoint Test D .
The engine does not start or unable to turn ignition on Starting system concern
Driveability concern
PATS concern
GO to Pinpoint Test E .
STARTING SYSTEM FAULT is displayed in the message center PATS concern RETRIEVE and DIAGNOSE all PATS DTCs in the BCM , RFA module, and PCM . REFER to the Related Module DTC Charts .
NO KEY DETECTED is displayed in the message center Environmental interference
