PINPOINT TEST K : The Roof Opening Panel is Noisy During Operation - Shade
- K1 CHECK THE ROOF OPENING PANEL SHADE TRACK FOR OBSTRUCTIONS OR DAMAGE
- Check the roof opening panel shade for any obstructions and damage.
Are there any obstructions and/or damage?
Yes REMOVE all obstructions. REPAIR any damage. If the damage cannot be repaired, INSTALL a new roof opening panel frame. Refer to Roof Opening Panel Frame . No GO to K2. - K2 CHECK THE ROOF OPENING PANEL SHADE OPERATION
- Check the roof opening panel shield during operation.
Is the roof opening panel shade assembly installed correctly?
Yes GO to K3. No INSTALL the roof opening panel shade assembly correctly. Refer to Roof Opening Panel Shade Assembly . - K3 CHECK THE ROOF OPENING PANEL SHADE MOTOR
- Remove the roof opening panel shade motor and leave the electrical connector connected.
- Operate the roof opening panel shade to the full OPEN and CLOSED position using the shade control switch.
Does the roof opening panel shade motor make excessive noise?
Yes INSTALL a new roof opening panel shade motor. Refer to Roof Opening Panel Motor - Shade . No REINSTALL the roof opening panel shade motor. REINITIALIZE the roof opening panel shade motor. Refer to Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization - Shade . If the roof opening panel shade is still noisy, INSTALL a new roof opening panel frame. Refer to Roof Opening Panel Frame . If the roof opening panel shade is no longer noisy, the system is operating correctly. The concern may have been caused by an incorrectly installed roof opening panel shade motor. - K4 CHECK THE ROOF OPENING PANEL SHADE FOR NOISE -
- Remove the roof opening panel fixed glass. Refer to ROOF OPENING PANEL GLASS - Rear Fixed .
- Remove the roof opening panel shade fabric retaining clips, lift up on the crossbar retaining clips and roll the crossbar forward and down to detach the crossbar from the drive cable assemblies.
- By hand, move the roof opening panel shade through it's full range of motion.
Is the roof opening panel shield noisy during manual operation?
Yes INSTALL a new roof opening panel shade. Refer to Roof Opening Panel Shade Assembly . No INSTALL a new roof opening panel frame. Refer to Roof Opening Panel Frame .
