Roof Opening Panel Operating Cable and Guide - Shade: Removal
NOTE:
The roof opening panel motor(s) must be initialized when repairs are carried out on any part of the roof opening panel system, including whenever:
- the roof opening sliding glass or power shade motor has been removed from the roof opening panel system.
- the roof opening panel glass has been removed from the roof opening panel system.
- the roof opening panel assembly has been removed from the vehicle.
- a new roof opening sliding glass or power shade motor has been installed.
- a new roof opening panel glass has been installed.
- a new roof opening panel assembly has been installed.

Remove the roof opening panel fixed glass. Refer to Roof Opening Panel Glass - Rear Fixed .
- 2.NOTE: RH shown in illustration, LH similar.
Using a small screwdriver, carefully pry the tab upward then pull the leading edge of the shade forward to release the shade from the track.
- 3.NOTE: During this step, the pre-tension within the shade assembly could be lost. Go to installation for instruction to reset tension.
Push in the button on the LH side of the shade assembly, then pull up to release the LH side until tension is felt on the RH side.
- 4.NOTE: Do not go past 25.4 mm (1 in) or the shade could come apart and need to be replaced.
Pull the shade to the left approximately 25 mm (1 in) until the locking notch is engaged to maintain tension.
- 6.
Disconnect the electrical connector, remove the 3 motor screws and the roof opening panel shade motor.- Tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
