PINPOINT TEST A : No Power at the AC Power Point Or the AC Power Point LED Indicator Flashes With Ignition On: Notes
Refer to HORN/CIGAR LIGHTER for schematic and connector information.
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The DC /AC inverter receives 12 volts DC from the BJB and the BCM-B and is wired to chassis ground. Power from the BJB is available at all times, regardless of ignition status. Power from the BCM-B is available when the ignition is ON, or for up to 10 minutes after the ignition is turned OFF, as long as the front doors remain closed throughout that 10 minutes. The incoming DC power is internally converted to 60 Hz 110 volts AC that is outputted to the AC outlet.
If the inverter is overloaded, overheated, or left on for more than 13 minutes without the engine on or the ignition being cycled, the green LED flashes and the inverter stops supplying power to the AC outlet. If the inverter is overloaded or overheated, the ignition must be cycled after the issue is corrected before normal operation resumes.
Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-checks
- Verify that any device being used in the AC outlet is rated at less than 150 watts.
- Verify that the AC outlet is not being used with the engine off for a period longer than 13 minutes without starting the engine or cycling the ignition.
- Verify that the cabin temperature is less than 75°C (166.9°F).
- Inspect BJB fuse 17 (40A)
- Inspect BCM-B fuse 32 (15A)
- Inspect for a damaged AC outlet
