P0111 - Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor 1 Circuit Range/Performance - DTC Chart
P0111 - INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE (IAT) SENSOR 1 CIRCUIT RANGE/PERFORMANCE - DTC CHART
| For Vehicles With 2.7L And 3.5L GTDI Engines | |||
| Description:
This DTC sets when either of the following conditions are present. When the IAT sensor PID does not correlate with the charge air cooler temperature (CACT) sensor or the intake air temperature 2 (IAT2) sensor PIDs at ignition ON. When the IAT sensor PID exceeds the maximum calibrated temperature threshold while driving. |
Possible Causes:
| Diagnostic Aids: The IAT sensor is located on the air filter housing. | |||
| For All Others | |||
| Description:
This DTC sets when the intake air temperature value is higher than a calibrated value indicating that the rationality test has failed and could prevent one or more on board diagnostic (OBD) monitors from completing. The PCM runs this logic after an engine OFF and a calibrated soak period (typically 6 to 8 hours). This soak period allows the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor and other temperature sensors to stabilize and not differ by greater than a calibrated value. DTC P0111 sets when the IAT sensor value at engine start exceeds the other temperature sensors by greater than a calibrated value, typically 17°C (30°F). |
Possible Causes:
| Diagnostic Aids: Make sure the IAT reading and the other temperature sensor readings are similar when the engine is cold. | |||
