Transmission Outputs
DPS6 has four 3-phase electric motors:
- Clutch A motor - controls clutch A torque capacity. The Clutch A system is tested for:
- ATIC faults (P0805) - the ATIC is an internal TCM component that controls motor current.
- Hall sensor faults (P0806) - each phase has a hall sensor that provides motor position information
- Sequence faults (P0809) - as the motor rotates it generates an defined pattern from the 3 hall sensors, if the sequence of hall sensor patterns is off this code sets.
- Open circuit (P0900)
- Short to ground (P0902)
- Short to power (P0903)
- Clutch functionally stuck off (P07A2)
- Clutch functionally stuck on (P07A3)
- Clutch B motor - controls clutch B torque capacity. The Clutch B system is tested for:
- ATIC faults (P087A) - the ATIC is an internal TCM component that controls motor current.
- Hall sensor faults (P087B) - each phase has a hall sensor that provides motor position information
- Sequence faults (P087E) - as the motor rotates it generates an defined pattern from the 3 hall sensors, if the sequence of hall sensor patterns is off this code sets.
- Open circuit (P090A)
- Short to ground (P090C)
- Short to power (P090D)
- Clutch functionally stuck off (P07A4)
- Clutch functionally stuck on (P07A5)
- Shift drum A motor - controls the shift forks that engage 1st, 3rd and 5th gear. The system is tested for:
- ATIC faults (P2831) - the ATIC is an internal TCM component that controls motor current.
- Sequence faults (P2835) - as the motor rotates it generates an defined pattern from the 3 hall sensors, if the sequence of hall sensor patterns is off this code sets.
- Open circuit (P285B)
- Short to ground (P285D)
- Short to power (P285E)
- Stuck in gear (P072C, P072E, P073A)
- Position error (P2832) - includes blocked motor, or any failure that results in the TCM losing confidence in the relative position of the shift drum.
- Shift drum A motor - controls the shift forks that engage 1st, 3rd and 5th gear. The system is tested for:
- ATIC faults (P2836) - the ATIC is an internal TCM component that controls motor current.
- Sequence faults (P283A) - as the motor rotates it generates an defined pattern from the 3 hall sensors, if the sequence of hall sensor patterns is off this code sets.
- Open circuit (P285F)
- Short to ground (P2861)
- Short to power (P2862)
- Stuck in gear (P072B, P072D, P072F, P073B)
- Position error (P2837) - includes blocked motor, or any failure that results in the TCM losing confidence in the relative position of the shift drum.
