For all other TPM module DTCs, REFER to Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) .
    No  GO to  E5.
  5. E5 CONFIRM THE REMOTE START FUNCTION IS ENABLED

    • Ignition ON.
    • Check the message center and confirm the remote start function is enabled. Refer to the Owner's Literature.

Is the remote start function enabled?

    Yes  GO to  E6.
No  ENABLE the remote start function.
  6. E6 CHECK THE LAST RECEIVED RKE TRANSMITTER BUTTON PRESS (LST_RKE_xMTR) OR LAST RECEIVED TRANSMITTER ID BUTTON PRESS (LST_XM_B_PRS) PID

    • Using a scan tool, view BCM or RFA module PIDs.
    • Without Push Button Start, monitor BCM PID LST_RKE_xMTR.
    • With Push Button Start, monitor RFA module PID LST_XM_B_Prs.
    • Press the remote start button on the IKT or Intelligent Access (IA) key and note the PID status.

Does the selected PID indicate the remote start button was the last button pressed?

    Yes  GO to  E7.
No  For vehicles without Push Button Start, REPLACE and PROGRAM a new IKT. REFER to Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) - Without Intelligent Access (IA) or REFER to Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) - Without Intelligent Access (IA) . For vehicles with Push Button Start, REPLACE and PROGRAM a new Intelligent Access (IA) key. KEY PROGRAMMING USING TWO PROGRAMMED KEYS - Without Intelligent Access (IA) or Key Programming Using Two Programmed Keys - With Intelligent Access (IA).
  7. E7 CHECK THE PCM WAKE UP CIRCUIT

    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: PCM C1381B (2.0L GTDI) or PCM C1551B (3.5L GTDI) or PCM C175B (3.5L Ti-VCT).
    • Ignition ON.
    • For 2.0L GTDI engine, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead
      C1381B-14
      GFD33595Courtesy of FORD MOTOR COMPANY
      Ground
    • For 3.5L GTDI engine, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead
      C1551B-28
