Pinpoint Test S : U0131:00

  1. S1 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK

    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the network test.

    Does the PSCM (vehicles without active park assist) or SCCM (vehicles with active park assist) pass the network test? 

    Yes  GO to  S2.
    No  For vehicles not equipped with active park assist, Refer to article 'Module Communications Network', Go to Pinpoint Test AC . For vehicles equipped with active park assist, Refer to article 'Module Communications Network', Go to Pinpoint Test G .

  2. S2 CHECK THE ABS MODULE CMDTCs

    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the ABS module self-test.
    • Clear the DTCs.
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Repeat the ABS module self-test.
    • Record the ABS module DTCs.

    Is DTC U0131:00 retrieved again? 

    Yes  GO to  S3.
    No  The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.

  3. S3 REVIEW THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE ABS MODULE SELF-TEST

    • Check the recorded DTCs from the ABS module self-test.

    Is DTC U3003:16 or U3003:17 present? 

    Yes  For DTC U3003:16, GO to Pinpoint Test A . For DTC U3003:17, GO to Pinpoint Test P .
    No  For vehicles not equipped with active park assist, GO to  S4. For vehicles equipped with active park assist, GO to  S5.

  4. S4 CHECK FOR DTCs FROM THE PSCM

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the PSCM self-test.

    Is DTC U3003:16 or 17 present? 

    Yes  REFER to Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS) System .
    No  GO to  S6.

  5. S5 CHECK FOR DTCs FROM THE SCCM

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the SCCM self-test.

    Is DTC C0051:16 or 17 present? 

    Yes  Refer to article 'Steering Column Switches', Go to Pinpoint Test L .
    No  GO to  S6.

  6. S6 CHECK FOR DTC U0131:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES

    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the self-test for all modules.
    • Retrieve the CMDTCs from all modules.

    Is DTC U0131:00 set in any other modules? 

    Yes  CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern and the vehicle is not equipped with active park assist, INSTALL a new PSCM. REFER to Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS) System (the module and steering gear are serviced as an assembly). If no TSBs address this concern and the vehicle is equipped with active park assist, INSTALL a new SCCM. REFER to Steering Column Switches .
    No  CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern and the vehicle is not equipped with adaptive cruise control, INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module . If no TSBs address this concern and the vehicle is equipped with adaptive cruise control, INSTALL a new ABS module and HCU. REFER to Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) .
