PINPOINT TEST L : A Single Power Window is Inoperative - LH Front, XLT or Limited
- L1 CHECK THE POWER TO THE WINDOW MOTOR
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: LH Front Window Motor C524 .
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C524-1 Ground
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
Yes GO to L2. No VERIFY BCM fuse 1 (30A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR the circuit. If not OK, REFER to the OEM ELECTRICAL WIRING DIAGRAM INTRODUCTION to identify the possible causes of the circuit short. DE-INITIALIZE, then INITIALIZE the LH front window motor. Refer to Window Motor Initialization . - L2 CHECK THE LH FRONT WINDOW MOTOR DELAYED ACCESSORY FEED
- Ignition ON.
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C524-3 Ground
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
Yes GO to L3. No VERIFY BCM fuse 32 (15A) is OK. - L3 CHECK THE LH FRONT WINDOW MOTOR GROUND
- Ignition OFF.
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C524-2 Ground
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes GO to L4. No REPAIR the circuit. DE-INITIALIZE, then INITIALIZE the LH front window motor. Refer to Window Motor Initialization . - L4 CHECK THE VOLTAGE SIGNAL FROM THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
- Ignition ON.
- While pressing and releasing the LH front window control switch, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead (UP) C524-4 Ground (DOWN) C524-5 Ground
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts when the LH front window control switch is pressed; and 0 volt when the switch is released?
Yes INSTALL a new LH front window regulator motor. Refer to Window Regulator Motor - Front Door . INITIALIZE the LH front window motor. Refer to Window Motor Initialization . No If voltage was less than 11 volts when the switch was pressed, GO to L5. If voltage was greater than 0 volt when the switch was released, GO to L6. - L5 CHECK FOR AN OPEN BETWEEN THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH AND THE WINDOW MOTOR
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: LH Front Window Control Switch C504 .
Are the resistances less than 3 ohms?
Yes INSTALL a new LH front window control switch. Refer to Window Control Switch . INITIALIZE the LH front window motor. Refer to Window Motor Initialization . No REPAIR the affected circuit. DE-INITIALIZE, then INITIALIZE the LH front window motor. Refer to Window Motor Initialization . - L6 CHECK THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: LH Front Window Control Switch C504 .
- Ignition ON.
Is any voltage present?
Yes REPAIR the affected circuit. INITIALIZE the LH front window motor. Refer to Window Motor Initialization . No INSTALL a new LH front window control switch. Refer to Window Control Switch . INITIALIZE the LH front window motor. Refer to Window Motor Initialization .
