PINPOINT TEST O : A Single Power Window is Inoperative - RH Front or Rear, Base
- O1 CHECK THE SUSPECT POWER WINDOW OPERATION FROM LH FRONT CONTROL SWITCH
- Ignition ON.
- Attempt to operate the suspect window from the LH front window control switch.
Does the window operate when using the LH front window control switch?
Yes GO to O2. No GO to O3. - O2 CHECK THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH LOCK-OUT/VOLTAGE FEED CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: Suspect RH Front Window Control Switch C604 , Rear Window Control Switch C701 (Left Hand (LH)) or C801 (Right Hand (RH)).
- Ignition ON.
- For an inoperative rear window, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead (LH) C701-5 , (RH) C801-5 Ground
NOTE: Make sure the LH window control switch lockout switch is in the UNLOCK position.- For an inoperative RH front window, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C604-5 Ground
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
Yes INSTALL a new window control switch. Refer to Window Control Switch . No For an inoperative RH front window, GO to O10. For an inoperative rear window, REPAIR the circuit. - O3 CHECK THE SUSPECT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH VOLTAGE CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: Suspect RH Front Window Control Switch C604 , Rear Window Control Switch C701 (Left Hand (LH)) or C801 (Right Hand (RH)).
- Ignition ON.
- For an inoperative rear window, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead (LH) C701-1 , (RH) C801-1 Ground
- For an inoperative RH front window, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C604-1 Ground
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
Yes GO to O4. No REPAIR the circuit. - O4 CHECK THE SUSPECT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead Front (RH) C604-3 , Rear (LH) C701-3 , Rear (RH) C801-3 Ground Front (RH) C604-3 , Rear (LH) C701-3 , Rear (RH) C801-3 Ground
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes GO to O5. No REPAIR the circuit. - O5 CHECK THE SUSPECT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH FOR VOLTAGE SIGNAL FROM THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
- Ignition ON.
- For LH rear window, while pressing and releasing the LH front window control switch, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead (UP) C701-6 Ground (DOWN) C701-7 Ground
- For RH rear window, while pressing and releasing the LH front window control switch, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead (UP) C801-6 Ground (DOWN) C801-7 Ground
- For RH front window, while pressing and releasing the LH front window control switch, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead (UP) C604-6 Ground (DOWN) C604-7 Ground
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts when the LH front window control switch is pressed; and 0 volt when the switch is released?
Yes For an inoperative rear window, GO to O8. For an inoperative RH front window, GO to O11. No If voltage was less than 11 volts when the switch was pressed, GO to O6. If voltage was greater than 0 volt when the switch was released, GO to O7. - O6 CHECK FOR AN OPEN BETWEEN THE SUSPECT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH AND THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: LH Front Window Control Switch C535A .
- For LH rear window, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C701-6 C535A-17 C701-7 C535A-18
- For RH rear window, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C801-6 C535A-16 C801-7 C535A-15
- For RH front window, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C604-6 C535A-14 C604-7 C535A-13
Are the resistances less than 3 ohms?
Yes INSTALL a new LH front window control switch. Refer to Window Control Switch . No REPAIR the affected circuit. - O7 CHECK THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: LH Front Window Control Switch C535A .
- Ignition ON.
- For LH rear window, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead (UP) C701-6 Ground (DOWN) C701-7 Ground
- For RH rear window, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead (UP) C801-6 Ground (DOWN) C801-7 Ground
- For RH front window, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead (UP) C604-6 Ground (DOWN) C604-7 Ground
Is any voltage present?
Yes REPAIR the affected circuit. No INSTALL a new LH front window control switch. Refer to Window Control Switch . - O8 CHECK THE SUSPECT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH OPERATION
- Ignition ON.
- To check upward window operation, connect fused jumper wires:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead (LH) C701-1 , (RH) C801-1 (LH) C701-4 , (RH) C801-4 (LH) C701-8 , (RH) C801-8 (LH) C701-3 , (RH) C801-8
- To check downward window operation, connect fused jumper wires:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead (LH) C701-1 , (RH) C801-1 (LH) C701-8 , (RH) C801-8 (LH) C701-4 , (RH) C801-4 (LH) C701-3 , (RH) C801-3
Does the rear window move up and/or down?
Yes INSTALL a new rear window control switch. Refer to Window Control Switch . No GO to O9. - O9 CHECK FOR AN OPEN CIRCUIT BETWEEN THE SUSPECT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH AND WINDOW MOTOR
- Measure
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead (LH) C701-8 , (RH) C801-8 (LH) C703-2 , (RH) C803-2 (LH) C701-4 , (RH) C801-4 (LH) C703-1 , (RH) C803-1
Are the resistances less than 3 ohms?
Yes INSTALL a new rear window motor. Refer to Window Regulator Motor - Rear Door . No REPAIR the affected circuit. - Measure
- O10 CHECK THE FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH VOLTAGE FEED CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: LH Front Window Control Switch C535A .
Is the resistances less than 3 ohms?
Yes INSTALL a new LH front window control switch. Refer to Window Control Switch . No REPAIR the circuit. - O11 CHECK THE RH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH OPERATION
- Ignition ON.
- To check upward window operation, connect fused jumper wires:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C604-1 C604-4 C604-8 C604-3
- To check downward window operation, connect fused jumper wires:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C604-1 C604-8 C604-4 C604-3
Does the rear window move up and/or down?
Yes INSTALL a new RH front window control switch. Refer to Window Control Switch . No GO to O12. - O12 CHECK FOR AN OPEN CIRCUIT BETWEEN THE RH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH AND WINDOW MOTOR
- Disconnect: RH Front Window Motor C608 .
Are the resistances less than 3 ohms?
Yes INSTALL a new front window motor. Refer to Window Regulator Motor - Front Door . No REPAIR the affected circuit.
