PINPOINT TEST H : Incorrect Speedometer Indication

  1. H1 CHECK THE TIRE SIZE CONFIGURATION

    • The correct tire size can be found on the VC label on the LH B-pillar. VC Codes.
    • Using the scan tool, view Module Programming for the programmed tire size.
    • Verify that the tire size configuration matches the VC label.

Is the tire size correctly configured?

    Yes  GO to  H2.
No  CONFIGURE the correct tire size as required.
  2. H2 CHECK THE AXLE RATIO CONFIGURATION

    • Using the scan tool, view Module Programming for the programmed axle ratio.
    • Verify the axle ratio is correctly configured.

Is the axle ratio correctly configured?

    Yes  GO to  H3.
No  CONFIGURE the correct axle ratio.
  3. H3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE PCM KOEO SELF-TEST

    • Using a scan tool, perform the PCM KOEO self-test.

    Are any DTCs recorded?

Yes  REFER to ENGINE CONTROLS - SYMPTOM CHARTS (EXCEPT DIESEL & HYBRID) .
    No  GO to  H4.
  4. H4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST

    • Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Are any DTCs recorded?

Yes  For DTC U0100:00, GO to Pinpoint Test AR . For all other DTCs, REFER to DTC Chart: IPC .
    No  GO to  H5.
  5. H5 CARRY OUT THE SPEEDOMETER ACTIVE COMMAND USING THE SCAN TOOL

    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a scan tool, view the IPC PIDs.
    • Select the IPC speedometer (SPDOMETER) PID. Command the speedometer in 10% increments while monitoring the speedometer. The speed indicated should increase according to the following tables:
      Command  Indication Range
      10% (23 km/h (14 mph)) 23 km/h (14 mph)-24 km/h (15 mph)
      20% (45 km/h (28 mph)) 44 km/h (27 mph)-48 km/h (30 mph)
      30% (67 km/h (42 mph)) 66 km/h (41 mph)-72 km/h (45 mph)
      40% (90 km/h (56 mph)) 87 km/h (54 mph)-97 km/h (60 mph)
      50% (113 km/h (70 mph)) 109 km/h (68 mph)-121 km/h (75 mph)
      60% (135 km/h (84 mph)) 130 km/h (81 mph)-145 km/h (90 mph)
      70% (158 km/h (98 mph)) 153 km/h (95 mph)-169 km/h (105 mph)
      80% (180 km/h (112 mph)) 175 km/h (109 mph)-193 km/h (120 mph)
      90% (203 km/h (126 mph)) 196 km/h (122 mph)-217 km/h (135 mph)
      100% (225 km/h (140 mph)) 219 km/h (136 mph)-241 km/h (150 mph)

      Late Build Police Only

      Command  Indication Range
      10% (26 km/h (16 mph)) 26 km/h (16 mph)-27 km/h (17 mph)
      20% (51 km/h (32 mph)) 50 km/h (31 mph)-55 km/h (34 mph)
      30% (77 km/h (48 mph)) 76 km/h (47 mph)-82 km/h (51 mph)
      40% (103 km/h (64 mph)) 100 km/h (62 mph)-109 km/h (68 mph)
