Pinpoint Test W : One Or More FCDIM Displays Are Inoperative Or Do Not Operate Correctly
- W1 CHECK FOR SCAN TOOL COMMUNICATION WITH THE FCDIM
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the network test.
Does the scan tool communicate with the FCDIM ?
Yes GO to W2. No Refer to article 'Module Communications Network', Go to Pinpoint Test D . - W2 CHECK FOR LOST COMMUNICATION DTCs SET IN THE FCDIM
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, retrieve all CMDTCs.
Is DTC U0155:00 or U0184:00 present in the FCDIM ?
Yes Refer to Information and Entertainment System - Premium . No GO to W3. - W3 CHECK THE FCDIM DISPLAY SEGMENTS
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, view the FCDIM PIDs.
- Command all of the LCD segments on using the FCDIM active command LCD_SEG (All LCD Segments).
Do all of the FCDIM segments illuminate?
Yes The system is operating correctly at this time. INFORM the customer on the operation of the FCDIM display. No GO to W4. - W4 CHECK FOR CORRECT FCDIM OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect and inspect the FCDIM connector.
- Repair:
- Corrosion (clean module pins or install new connectors or terminals)
- Damaged or bent pins (install new terminals or pins)
- Pushed-out pins (install new pins as necessary)
- Reconnect the FCDIM connector. Make sure it seats and latches correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern, INSTALL a new FCDIM. Refer to Front Controls/Display Interface Module (FCDIM) . No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
