PINPOINT TEST AA : The Low Fuel Message Center Indicator Is Never or Always On
- AA1 CHECK THE MESSAGE CENTER WARNING INDICATOR FUNCTION
- Close all doors, hood and liftgate.
- Ignition ON.
- Open the driver door while monitoring the door ajar message center warning indicator.
NOTE: If multiple warnings are present, the message center cycles through each of the warning indicators. Allow the message center to cycle through each display while determining whether the door ajar message center warning indicator is active.Does the driver door ajar message center warning indicator turn off with the driver door closed and illuminate with the driver door open?
Yes GO to AA2. No Refer to IPC Hardware Testing . - AA2 CHECK THE FUEL GAUGE OPERATION
- Verify the fuel gauge is operating correctly and is not registering empty (E) or full (F) all the time.
Does the fuel gauge operate correctly?
Yes GO to AA3. No GO to Pinpoint Test B . - AA3 CHECK THE DTE DISPLAYED
- Access the DTE information in the trip computer display (base IPC) or fuel economy display (optional IPC).
Does the DTE indicate 120 km (75 miles) (with a MyKey ®) or 80 km (50 miles) (with an administrator programmed key) or less?
Yes If the low fuel message center indicator is never on, Refer to IPC Hardware Testing .
If the low fuel message center warning indicator is always on, the system is operating correctly at this time.No If the low fuel indicator is always on, Refer to IPC Hardware Testing .
If the low fuel message center warning indicator is never on, the system is operating correctly at this time.
