PINPOINT TEST AC : The Door Ajar Message Center Warning Indicator Is Never or Always On
- AC1 VERIFY THE OPERATION OF THE POWERTRAIN MALFUNCTION (WRENCH) AND ENGINE OVER-TEMPERATURE MESSAGE CENTER WARNING INDICATORS
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: PCM C175B (3.5L and 3.7L Ti-VCT).
- Disconnect: PCM C1381B (2.0L GTDI).
- Disconnect: PCM C175B (3.5L GTDI).
- Ignition ON.
- Observe the message center or integrated display area of the IPC with the PCM connected and disconnected.
NOTE: If multiple warnings are present, the message center cycles through each of the warning indicators. Allow the message center to cycle through each display while determining whether the powertrain malfunction (wrench) and temperature message center warning indicators are active.Do the powertrain malfunction (wrench) and engine over-temperature warning message center indicators remain off when the PCM is connected and become active with the PCM disconnected?
Yes GO to AC2. No Refer to IPC Hardware Testing . - AC2 CHECK THE INTERIOR LIGHTING OPERATION
- Open and close each door while monitoring the interior lamps.
Do the interior lamps operate correctly with each door?
Yes GO to AC3. No REFER to Interior Lighting . - AC3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Is DTC U0140:00 recorded?
Yes GO to Pinpoint Test AV . No GO to AC4. - AC4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE BCM SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
Are any DTCs recorded?
Yes REFER to Multifunction Electronic Modules . No INSTALL a new BCM. REFER to Multifunction Electronic Modules .
