Pinpoint Test Bx : U0131:00
- BX1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
- Ignition ON.
- Verify that there is an observable symptom present.
Is an observable symptom present?
Yes GO to BX2. No The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - BX2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, perform a network test.
- Carry out the network test.
Does the PSCM pass the network test?
Yes GO to BX3. No REFER to Module Communications Network . - BX3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE PSCM SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the PSCM self-test.
Is DTC U3003:16 or DTC U3003:17 recorded?
Yes REFER to Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS) System . No GO to BX4. - BX4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Is DTC U3003:16 or DTC U3003:17 recorded?
Yes For DTC U3003:16, GO to Pinpoint Test BD . For DTC U3003:17, GO to Pinpoint Test BE . No GO to BX5. - BX5 RECHECK THE IPC DTCs
- Clear the DTCs. Repeat the IPC self-test.
Is DTC U0131:00 still present?
Yes GO to BX6. No The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - BX6 CHECK FOR DTC U0131:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES
- Clear all DTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Using a scan tool, perform self-test.
- Retrieve the continuous memory DTCs from all modules.
Is DTC U0131:00 set in the ABS module?
Yes INSTALL a new steering gear. REFER to Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS) System . No Refer to IPC Hardware Testing .
