Pinpoint Test By : U0138:00
- BY1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
- Ignition ON.
- Verify there is an observable symptom present.
Is an observable symptom present?
Yes GO to BY2. No The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - BY2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, perform a network test.
- Carry out the network test.
Does the ATCM module pass the network test?
Yes GO to BY3. No REFER to Module Communications Network . - BY3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Is DTC U3003:16 or DTC U3003:17 recorded?
Yes For DTC U3003:16, GO to Pinpoint Test BD . For DTC U3003:17, GO to Pinpoint Test BE . No GO to BY4. - BY4 RECHECK THE IPC DTCs
- Clear the DTCs.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Repeat the IPC self-test.
Is DTC U0138:00 still present?
Yes GO to BY5. No The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - BY5 CHECK FOR DTC U0138:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES
- Clear all DTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Using the scan tool, perform self-test.
- Retrieve the continuous memory DTCs from all modules.
Is DTC U0138:00 set in the ABS module?
Yes INSTALL a new ATCM. REFER to Four Wheel Drive (4WD) Systems . No Refer to IPC Hardware Testing .
