Pinpoint Test J : U0100:87
- J1 VERIFY THE SCAN TOOL COMMUNICATES WITH THE PCM
- Ignition ON.
- Connect the scan tool.
- Check that a vehicle session can be established using the scan tool.
Can a vehicle session be established?
Yes GO to J2. No Refer to article 'Module Communications Network', Go to Pinpoint Test A . - J2 RETRIEVE THE DTCs FROM THE PCM KOEO SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the PCM KOEO self-test.
Are any DTCs recorded?
Yes REFER to Electronic Engine Controls . No GO to J3. - J3 CHECK THE IPM-A DTCs
- Using a scan tool, clear the IPM-A DTCs.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Check the IPM-A DTCs.
Is DTC U0100:87 recorded?
Yes GO to J4. No The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to heavy network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - J4 CHECK FOR DTC U0100:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES
- Clear all DTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Retrieve the CMDTCs from all modules.
Is DTC U0100:00 set in the ABS module or in the RCM ?
Yes INSTALL a new PCM. REFER to Electronic Engine Controls - 2.0L GTDI or REFER to Electronic Engine Controls - 3.5L Ti-VCT, 3.7L Ti-VCT . No INSTALL a new interior auto-dimming mirror. Refer to Interior Rear View Mirror .
