Pinpoint Test L : U0131:87
- L1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
- Ignition ON.
- Verify there is an observable symptom present.
Is an observable symptom present?
Yes GO to L2. No The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to heavy network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - L2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
- Using a scan tool, perform a network test.
Does the PSCM pass the network test?
Yes GO to L3. No Refer to article 'Module Communications Network', Go to Pinpoint Test AC . - L3 RETRIEVE THE DTCs FROM THE PSCM SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the PSCM self-test.
Are any non-network DTCs recorded?
Yes REFER to REFER to Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS) System . No GO to L4. - L4 RECHECK THE IPM-A DTCs
- Clear the DTCs from the IPM-A.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Check the IPM-A DTCs.
Is DTC U0131:87 recorded?
Yes GO to L5. No The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to heavy network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - L5 CHECK FOR DTC U0131:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES
- Clear all DTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Retrieve the CMDTCs from all modules.
Is DTC U0131:00 set in the IPC ?
Yes INSTALL a new steering gear. REFER to Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS) System . No INSTALL a new interior auto-dimming mirror. Refer to Interior Rear View Mirror .
