Pinpoint Test P : U0212:87
- P1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
- Ignition ON.
- Verify there is an observable symptom present.
Is an observable symptom present?
Yes GO to P2. No The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to heavy network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - P2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
- Using a scan tool, perform a network test.
Does the SCCM pass the network test?
Yes GO to P3. No REFER to REFER to Module Communications Network . - P3 RECHECK THE IPM-A DTCs
- Clear the DTCs from the Image Processing Module - A (IPM-A).
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Check the IPM-A DTCs.
Is DTC U0212:87 recorded?
Yes GO to P4. No The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to heavy network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - P4 CHECK FOR DTC U0212:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES
- Clear all DTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Retrieve the CMDTCs from all modules.
Is DTC U0212:00 set in the IPC or the BCM ?
Yes INSTALL a new SCCM. REFER to Steering Column Switches . No INSTALL a new interior auto-dimming mirror. Refer to Interior Rear View Mirror .
