Pinpoint Test Q : U0232:87, U0233:87
- Q1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
- Ignition ON.
- Verify there is an observable symptom present.
Is an observable symptom present?
Yes GO to Q2. No The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to heavy network traffic or an intermittent fault condition. - Q2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
- Using a scan tool, perform a network test
Do the SOD-L, SOD-R and BCM pass the network test?
Yes GO to Q3. No REFER to Module Communications Network . - Q3 RETRIEVE THE DTCs FROM THE BCM SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
Are any DTCs recorded?
Yes REFER to Multifunction Electronic Modules . No GO to Q4. - Q4 RECHECK THE IPM-A DTCs
- Clear the DTCs from the Image Processing Module - A (IPM-A).
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Check the IPM-A DTCs.
Is DTC U0232:87 or U0233:87 recorded?
Yes INSTALL a new SOD-L (Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U0232:87) or SOD-R (Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U0233:87). REFER to Side and Rear Vision . If DTC U0232:87 or U0233:87 is still present, INSTALL a new interior auto-dimming mirror. Refer to Interior Rear View Mirror . No The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to heavy network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
