This article will assist in determining warrantable running board conditions.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Some running boards may have but not limited to: serviceable end caps, hinges, motors, connecting rods, brackets.

Power running boards may not deploy in extreme climates due to excessive ice buildup. Make sure that the running boards have deployed and have finished moving before attempting to step on them. The running boards will resume normal function once the blockage is cleared. Refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-08, Diagnosis and Testing, Power Running Board (PRB) Deployment Concerns.

Power running boards may operate more slowly in cool temperatures.

Power running boards will reverse direction and move to the end of travel if it encounters an object while moving.

Non-warrantable Conditions:

NOTE: Only defective components are covered. Entire assemblies will not be covered when a single component replacement will correct the concern. Serviceable components are not available on accessory running board kits, which are serviced as a complete set.
