PINPOINT TEST T : The MIL Is Never or Always On
- T1 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE PCM KOEO SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the PCM KOEO self-test.
Are any PCM DTCs recorded?
Yes REFER to the ENGINE CONTROLS - INTRODUCTION (EXCEPT DIESEL & HYBRID) . No GO to T2. - T2 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Is DTC U0100:00 recorded?
Yes GO to Pinpoint Test AR . No GO to T3. - T3 CARRY OUT THE IPC MIL ACTIVE COMMAND USING THE SCAN TOOL
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, view the IPC PIDs.
- Select the IPC MIL (MIL) PID. Command the MIL on and off. Observe the MIL.
Does the MIL illuminate when selected on and turn off when selected off?
Yes If the MIL is never on, the system is operating correctly at this time. If the MIL is always on, INSTALL a new PCM. REFER to Electronic Engine Controls . No Refer to IPC Hardware Testing .
