PINPOINT TEST C : The Power Lumbar is Inoperative - Driver
- C1 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE POWER LUMBAR MOTOR

Ignition OFF.
WARNING: Turn the ignition OFF and wait one minute to deplete the backup power supply. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury or death in the event of an accidental deployment.- Disconnect: Driver Seat Side Air Bag C3051 .
- Disconnect: Power Lumbar Motor C3215 .
- While operating the seat control switch in both directions, measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C3215-A C3215-B
NOTE: During the following step, the voltage being measured changes polarity dependent upon which direction the seat control switch is activated.Is the voltage greater than 11 volts when the seat control switch is operated and 0 volt in the rest position?
Yes INSTALL a new power lumbar assembly. Refer to Lumbar Assembly - Power . GO to C4. No GO to C2. -
- C2 CHECK THE POWER LUMBAR MOTOR CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Disconnect: Driver Seat Control Switch C369 .
Are the resistances greater than 10, 000 ohms?
Yes GO to C3. No REPAIR the affected circuit. GO to C4. - C3 CHECK THE LUMBAR MOTOR CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
Are the resistances less than 3 ohms?
Yes INSTALL a new seat control switch. Refer to Seat Control Switch . GO to C4. No REPAIR the affected circuit. GO to C4. - C4 CHECK FOR SRS DTCs

Ignition OFF.
WARNING: Turn the ignition OFF and wait one minute to deplete the backup power supply. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury or death in the event of an accidental deployment.- Connect: Driver Seat Side Air Bag C3051 .
- Connect: All previously disconnected electrical connectors.
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the RCM DTCs.
- Cycle the ignition OFF then ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform RCM self-test.
Are any RCM DTCs retrieved during self-test?
Yes REFER to Supplemental Restraint System for pinpoint test direction. No The repair is complete. RETURN the vehicle to the customer. -
