PINPOINT TEST G : The Delayed Accessory is Inoperative

  1. G1 CHECK THE DOOR AJAR SWITCH OPERATION

    • Open and close the front doors. Verify the interior lights turn on when the doors are open, and off when the doors are closed.

    Do the interior lights operate normally? 

    Yes  GO to  G2.
    No  REFER to Interior Lighting , Symptom Chart: Interior Lighting.
  2. G2 CHECK THE ACCESSORY DELAY RELAY

    • Disconnect: Accessory Delay Relay.
    • Carry out the accessory delay relay component test. Refer to Component Testing for component testing.

    Did the delayed accessory relay pass the component test? 

    Yes  For Base, GO to  G3. For XLT or Limited, GO to  G5.
    No  INSTALL a new accessory delay relay.
  3. G3 CHECK THE ACCESSORY DELAY RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN OR SHORT TO GROUND

    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect: LH Front Window Control Switch C535B .
    • Measure:
      Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead

      Ground
    • Measure:
      Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead

    Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms between the window control switch and ground; and less than 3 ohms between the window control switch and BCM ? 

    Yes  GO to  G4.
    No  REPAIR the circuit.
  4. G4 CHECK THE CIRCUIT BREAKER

    • Ignition OFF.
    • Connect: LH Front Window Control Switch C535B .
    • Install a new BCM circuit breaker 48 (30A).
    • Operate each of the power windows.

    Do the power windows operate? 

    Yes  The system is operating correctly at this time.
    No  GO to  G5.
  5. G5 CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM OPERATION

    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect and inspect all BCM connectors.
    • Repair:
      • corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
      • damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins as necessary
      • pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
    • Reconnect the BCM connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
    • Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

    Is the concern still present? 

    Yes  CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern, INSTALL a new BCM. REFER to Multifunction Electronic Modules - Without Intelligent Access or REFER to Multifunction Electronic Modules - With Intelligent Access .
    No  The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
