PINPOINT TEST J : The RKE Transmitter Is Inoperative: Notes
Refer to REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY AND ALARM SYSTEM for schematic and connector information.
Normal Operations and Fault Conditions
The RKE transmitter in the Intelligent Access (IA) key sends a radio signal to the TPM module based on the user selected RKE transmitter button. The TPM module then communicates the command to the RFA module, and the RFA module carries out the selected action. The Intelligent Access (IA) keys and the RFA module also utilize a rolling code to prevent the code from being captured by a code grabber. The system advances the counter in the RKE transmitter and RFA module every time an Intelligent Access (IA) key button is pressed.
The TPM module receives voltage at all times and has a dedicated ground circuit. The TPM module sends TPMS information over the MS-CAN to the BCM. The TPM module sends all RKE and Intelligent Access (IA) key information and requests to the RFA module through a dedicated single circuit network.
RFA Module DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
| DTC | Description | Fault Trigger Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| B10AB:06 | Remote Keyless Entry Synchronization: Algorithm Based Failures | Sets continuous when the RFA module detects the rolling counter received from an RKE transmitter is 1, 024 times greater than the rolling counter stored in the module. |
| U201F:31 | External Receiver: No Signal | Sets on-demand when the RFA module loses communication with the TPM module. |
