PINPOINT TEST H : The Power Liftgate Closes (With a Continuous Chime) Immediately After a Power Open
- H1 CHECK THE LIFTGATE ASSIST CYLINDERS
- Verify there is no excessive weight on the liftgate, such as snow, ice or a bicycle rack.
- Turn the power liftgate off (disable) from the message center.
- Operate the liftgate manually to verify the liftgate assist cylinders hold the liftgate open.
Did the liftgate assist cylinders hold the liftgate open correctly?
Yes GO to H2. No INSTALL new liftgate assist cylinders. CLEAR the DTCs. INITIALIZE the power liftgate. Refer to Power Liftgate Initialization . - H2 CHECK THE POWER LIFTGATE OPERATION
- Using the scan tool, clear the LTM DTCs.
- Initialize the power liftgate. Refer to Power Liftgate Initialization .
- Operate the power liftgate from a RKE transmitter.
Does the liftgate close with a continuous chime immediately after a power open?
Yes INSTALL a new LTM. Refer to Liftgate/Trunk Module (LTM) . No The system is operating normal at this time. The concern may have been caused by an improperly initialized power liftgate or previous weight on the liftgate.
