Pinpoint Test L : B2908: Notes
Refer to Power Liftgate for schematic and connector information.
Normal Operations and Fault Conditions
The LTM monitors the detent switch, secondary forkbolt switch and the primary forkbolt switch to determine the status of the liftgate latch (primary latch, secondary latch, or fully unlatched). All 3 switches are internal to the power liftgate latch. The LTM supplies each of the switches a reference voltage signal to each one of the switches. Depending upon the latch state, each individual switch is either closed and supplying a ground to the module on one of the circuits or the switch is open.
The detent switch only changes state during latch movement. While monitoring the detent switch PID, it is important to carefully monitor it during latch movement or monitor the PID while manually rotating the latch.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
| DTC | Description | Fault Trigger Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| B2908 | Latch Switch Invalid | An on-demand DTC that sets when the LTM detects the liftgate is not in the fully latched (primary) position at the beginning of self-test. This DTC may also set if the LTM does not detect a change in the latch status during latch releasing/cinching. |
