Removal And Installation: Liftgate: Removal

1. 1.
   
   Remove the bolt at the liftgate and position the ground strap aside.

   Position aside the liftgate opening weatherstrip.

1. 3.
   
   Remove the liftgate trim panel. REFER to Interior Trim and Ornamentation .

1. 4.
   
   Disconnect the center high-mount stop lamp electrical connector.

   Disconnect the heated backlight electrical connectors.

   Disconnect the rear wiper motor electrical connector.

   Disconnect the license lamp electrical connector.

   Disconnect the liftgate latch electrical connectors.

   Remove the wiring harness pushpin retainers.

   Remove the wiring harness boot at the liftgate opening and route the wiring harness out of the liftgate.

   Remove the rear washer hose boot at the body and disconnect the washer hose.

   Loosen but do not remove the liftgate-to-hinge bolts.

   Manually support the liftgate.

   Disconnect the liftgate supports at the liftgate.

   With the help of an assistant, remove the liftgate-to-hinge bolts and remove the liftgate.
