Seat Recliner - 60 Percent, Inboard: Installation

  1. 1.

    Position the inboard recliner to the seat. Install but do not tighten the 3 inboard recliner-to-cushion frame bolts, the inboard recliner-to-cushion frame yoke bolt and the 2 inboard recliner-to-backrest bolts.
    NOTE: Before installation, make sure the safety belt is not twisted.

  1. 2.
    Position the safety belt anchor to the recliner. Install but do not tighten the safety belt anchor-to-inboard recliner bolt.

  1. 3.

    Tighten the 3 inboard recliner-to-cushion frame bolts, the inboard recliner-to-cushion frame yoke bolt and the 2 inboard recliner-to-backrest frame bolts in the sequence shown.

    1. 1.

      Tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).

  1. 4.

    Tighten the safety belt anchor-to-inboard recliner bolt.

    1. 1.

      Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

  1. 5.

    Route the inboard-to-outboard recliner cable and attach the end at the outboard recliner.

  1. 6.

    Tighten the 2 outboard recliner-to-backrest bolts.

    1. 1.

      Tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).

  1. 7.

    Install the outboard recliner cover and the recliner handle.

  1. 8.

    Position the inboard recliner RH and LH covers and snap them together.

    1. 1.

      Install the pin-type retainer and screw to the LH inboard recliner cover.

  1. 9.

    If equipped, install the armrest.

    1. 1.

      Position the armrest assembly and engage the 2 retaining clips.

    1. 2.

      Install the 3 armrest-to-backrest frame bolts.
      • Tighten to 15 Nm (133 lb-in).

    1. 3.

      Install the 3 screws.

  1. 10.

    If equipped with an armrest, position the backrest cover back between the backrest frame and armrest plastic.

  1. 11.

    If equipped with an armrest, install the center head restraint.

  1. 12.

    Close the backrest cover.

      Attach the hook-and-loop strips.

    1. 2.

      Install the 4 pin-type retainers.

    1. 3.

      Attach the 4 backrest cover inner J-clips to the hard back panel.

    1. 4.

      Attach the backrest cover J-clips at the bottom of the cover.

  1. 13.

    Bundle the recliner cables together and secure them to the cushion frame wire with a zip tie.

  1. 14.

    Install the RH riser inner and outer covers.

    1. 1.

      Position the RH outer riser cover and install the 3 screws.

    1. 2.

      Attach the RH inner riser cover to the RH outer riser cover.

    1. 3.

      Install the 2 RH inner riser cover screws.

  1. 15.

    Position the cushion foam pad and cover to the cushion frame.

  1. 16.

    Engage and attach all cushion cover retainers and J-clips.
