Theory Of Operation

The Front Left Window Master Switch includes the Mirror Selector and Adjustment Switch.

The Mirror Select Switch (MSS) has three positions Driver, Passenger and Neutral. When the MSS is in the Driver position, only the driver side mirror is adjustable; and when the switch is in the Passenger position, only the passenger side mirror is adjustable. The mirror is not adjustable when the switch is in the Neutral position. When the MSS is pressed for use on the driver or passenger side mirror, the Driver Door Module (DDM) will receive a MSS status on the LIN bus; and remain adjustable for 30 seconds.

The Mirror Adjustment Switch (MAS) has 4 positions Up, Down, Left and Right. When the MAS is pressed for use on the driver or passenger side mirror, the DDM will receive a MAS status on the LIN bus; and also remain adjustable for 30 seconds. When the DDM receives a LIN message from the MAS, the DDM applies battery voltage and ground to the appropriate circuits to drive the selected mirror in the desired direction.
