Removal And Installation: Removal

  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  2. Remove the master cylinder to booster fasteners (2).
  3. Disconnect the brake fluid level switch wire harness connector (1).

  4. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum switch wire harness connector (2).
  5. Remove the brake booster vacuum switch from the brake booster (1).
  6. Gently pull the master cylinder away from the brake booster and carefully set it to the side taking care to not damage the brake lines.

  7. Remove and DISCARD  the brake booster push rod locking tab (4) by disengaging the two tabs (3) from the retainer (2) and pulling it forward out of the retainer (2).
  8. Remove and DISCARD  the push rod retainer (2) from the brake pedal assembly by pulling rearward on the two tabs (1) and sliding off of the brake pedal. Slide the retainer (2) up and then off of the brake booster push rod.

  9. Remove the brake booster mounting fasteners (1).
  10. Remove the brake booster.
